Deployment

Deployment

The deterministic data plane always runs in the customer environment. Source analysis, graph construction, selection, and test execution do not move to a control plane.

Operating Models

ModelExecution and sourceControl planePublished data
CloudCustomer workstation or CI runnerVendor-managed SaaSRedacted report or metadata, by policy
HybridCustomer workstation or CI runnerPrivate endpoint or customer-managed gatewayMetadata only by default
On-premCustomer workstation or CI runnerNone requiredLocal artifacts only

Security Boundaries

  1. Repository source and authenticated browser state remain inside the customer execution boundary.
  2. The deterministic selector makes every run or skip decision locally.
  3. Artifact publication is explicit: local-only, metadata-only, or full-report.
  4. Hybrid connectivity uses private networking and workload identity or mutual TLS.
  5. On-prem mode needs no network access.

Deployment Profile

Profiles conform to deployment-profile.schema.json:

{
  "$schema": "../../deployment-profile.schema.json",
  "schemaVersion": 1,
  "mode": "hybrid",
  "execution": {
    "location": "customer-environment",
    "networkAccess": "private-link"
  },
  "controlPlane": {
    "endpoint": "https://codegraph.internal.example.com",
    "authentication": "mutual-tls"
  },
  "artifacts": {
    "publish": "metadata-only",
    "redactPaths": true
  }
}

Current Scope

The package currently implements the local and CI deterministic data plane, portable artifacts, and standalone report. Deployment profiles define a stable contract for future control-plane integrations; the CLI does not upload data.

The same commands run in all 3 models:

npx playwright-codegraph graph sync
npx playwright-codegraph scenarios
npx playwright-codegraph plan --base origin/main
npx playwright-codegraph run
npx playwright-codegraph report
